Project aims at creation of environment of cooperation and friendship among societies in Pınarhisar and Tsarevo; preparation of environment for young generations to cooperate and work together in different fields in the future; contribution to tourism development and, thus to social and economic development in the region, in the context of Pınarhisar and Tsarevo; development of institutional capacity that has been started among the partners with cross border program of year 2004 via provision of education in canoeing sport and environment of collaboration for 10 youngters of 12 – 16 age group youth in Pınarhisar and Tsarevo.

Creation of environment of cooperation and friendship among societies in Pınarhisar and Tsarevo and preparation of environment for young generations to cooperate and work together in different fields in the future, and contribution to tourism development and, thus to social and economic development in the region, in the context of Pınarhisar and Tsarevo via organisation of 2 bilateral canoeing competiton activities and local music concerts in the context of sport activities, for 17 – 25 age group youth in Pınarhisar and Tsarevo to join.

To develop sustainable culture and nature tourism in border region, and contribute to economic and social development, to help both societies to know more about each other through cultural exchanges, and to create institutional integration among project partners, for building capacity for increased personnel and institutional capabilities via provision of extensive information about natural and cultural values of the border region, through establishment and promotion of an internet portal as the most reliable source of information for the region.

Project aims at development of a sustainable tourism through preparation of a tourism management plan for Arapgir.

Contribution to sustainable regional development by increasing number of visitors visiting the region by 50%, increasing time spent by visitors in the region by 100% and increasing tourism renenues by 50% with Turkish Canoeing Federation ensuring 90% occupancy in the sports and camping centre during 6 months of sumer time via establishment of a 500 sqm., fully equipped high altitute water sports centre, as in-kind contribution of Ardahan University, in front of Ardahan University’s accomodation facilities along Çıldır Lake shoreline, promotion of this centre to both national (water sports clubs, etc.) and international (international canoeing organisations, national federations, etc.) canoeing circles with the support of Turkish Canoeing Federation and inclusion of this newly established camping centre into the camping calender of Turkish Canoeing Federation as camping centre for national teams.

Increasing local tourism revenues by 50% due to minimum 20% increase in time spent in the region by visitors visiting Kemaliye by turning historical Kadı Lake water spring in Kemaliye centrum into a tourism attraction centre via creation of a 103,9 sqm. landscape viewing platform, 199,6 sqm. resting area recreational works, 625 m long tracking route construction, environmental rehabilitation for 6 historical wind mills and one bath and rehabilitation of one fountain along Kadı Lake water spring, in Kemaliye.

In overall, the action aims to turn Kemaliye into a sports destination brand as a consequence of organisation of sports events and their institutionalisations with the support of TURKAF and TKF, together with promotional and marketing works within the context of Kemaliye Water Sports Centre KESUMER, and branding these activities as a tourism product. In this way, competitiveness of Tourism sector in the region will be contributed by extending tourism season to whole year and improving the tourism mobility through increasing number of tourists by 10%, tourists’ average duration of stay in the region by 100% and tourism revenues by 50%. In specific, the action aims at establishment of fully equipped Kemaliye Water Sports Centre KESUMER in Kemaliye, in the area designated by the project partner EIGSM and within the framework of this water sports tourism infrastructure; (1) creation of Kemaliye nature and water sports tourism product through organisation of min. two competitions in each of the canoeing and rowing branches, with the support of TKF and TURKAF and with participation of min. 50-70 athletes in each branch, both nationally and internationally, and through institutionalisation of min. one of these competitions organised in each of these branches annually by including them in annual competition calendars of TKF and TURKAF, (2) branding Kemaliye under the concept of a town of nature sports as a tourism product through promotional activities towards 4 universities in TRA1 region; 20-22 national sports clubs that are active in canoeing and rowing branches; 10 canoeing, 10 rowing federations abroad; 8-10 tour operators and 3-5 press and media organisations within tourism sector, (3) increasing the service and institutional capacities of tourism sector in the region by organising min. four capacity-building-based tourism seminars towards managements and employees of tourism enterprises that are active in Kemaliye and TRA1 region, in general.
