Objectives :

The main objective of the action is to extend envisaged physical activity program to min. 200 senior citizens who are living in Kadıköy, to achieve min. 40% rate of success in each of the factors, including (i) profit on palliative care, (ii) disease prevention, (iii) improved quality of life and social welfare, (iv) prevention on cardiovascular and metabolic depression. In this context, the action aims at, (i) development of a holistic methodology to introduce physical activity through networking and exchange of relevant practices between the TOVAK and the DOF in the field of healthy and active ageing, (ii) increased level of awareness among min. 300 senior citizens living in Kadıköy on benefits of physical activity.

Objectives :

The main objective of “Children in the City in Turkey” project by the Turkish Heart Foundation will be to improve access and awareness of physical activity among children aged 7-12 living in low income urban neighbourhoods of Şişli district, in the city of Istanbul. Whereas the specific objective will be encouraging these children for physical activity and get them to be more active via both the motivation and the practical opportunity through either sport, football in particular, or convincing them to make habitual changes in their everyday life.

Objectives :

In overall, the action works to support, (1) enabling, in particular, the specific population group of mothers of 6-14 age group children in Batman, as pilot application, to adopt healthy lifestyles, and (2) the development of guidelines for improved networking and knowledge sharing among TIHF’s members to push for policy change for intervening, pre-empt policies, and spreading awareness on the problem. In specific, the action aims at, (1) improving information and knowledge and disseminating it to CSOs, policy makers, health professionals (i.e. members of the Turkish-Italian Heart Health Forum – TIHF) and the public through electronic media (i.e. Turkish-Italian Heart Health Portal – TIHP); (2) developing broad heart health promotion activities or courses to support CVD prevention programmes among women (i.e. mothers of 6-14 age group children), in Batman.
